Job Overview:
The Senior Application Engineer leads the design, development, and application of hydraulic tensioners and related components, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and industry standards. This role involves close collaboration with customers, internal teams, and cross-functional departments to deliver effective engineering solutions and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
•Lead the design and development of hydraulic tensioners and components, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
•Utilize hydraulic design and simulation software to create efficient and reliable products.
•Conduct product testing and validation to confirm adherence to design requirements and performance standards.
Customer Interaction and Sales:
•Work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored engineering solutions.
•Assist in the technical aspects of sales processes, contributing expertise to secure business opportunities.
•Provide pre-sales technical support to assist sales teams in responding to customer inquiries and proposal generation.
Technical Support:
•Provide expert technical support to customers and internal teams.
•Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues effectively and efficiently.
Project Management:
•Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to optimize productivity.
•Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
Documentation:
•Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
•Maintain accurate and organized records for engineering and quality assurance processes.
Collaboration:
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to achieve successful project outcomes.
•Facilitate clear communication across departments to ensure project alignment and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
•Identify opportunities to enhance existing product designs, improve performance, reduce costs, and streamline manufacturing processes.
Industry Knowledge:
•Continuously stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to ensure HTI maintains a competitive edge.
Quality Assurance:
•Support quality assurance processes, ensuring product designs meet rigorous quality and safety standards.
Vendor Relations:
•Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers, selecting appropriate materials, components, and solutions that meet design requirements and cost targets.
Field Service Support:
•Occasionally provide on-site support for product installations, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting at customer locations.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
•Preferred experience includes specific involvement in the design and sales of hydraulic tensioners.
•Proficiency in hydraulic design and simulation software.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
