The Position
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Air Emissions Team Manager to lead our dynamic emissions management team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of engineers and specialists who support our clients in developing and managing air emissions inventories, identifying emissions reduction opportunities, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the oil and gas sector.
As the team manager, your focus will be on strategic planning, team development, project oversight, and client relationship management. You will ensure your team delivers high-quality work, while also mentoring and guiding team members through their professional growth. You will work closely with other senior leaders to align team goals with broader company objectives, continually improving our internal processes and software tools to drive innovation and efficiency.
While a strong understanding of emissions management and engineering principles is important, your key strength will be your ability to lead, coordinate, and inspire a team of professionals. This role is ideal for a senior-level air emissions expert ready to step into a broader management role with a meaningful impact on sustainability and emissions mitigation in the energy sector.

Responsibilities and Duties
Team Leadership & Development
•Lead and manage a high-performing team of engineers and analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, technical oversight, and professional development support.
•Review and approve technical work, offering mentorship to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high standards of quality.
•Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth-focused team culture.
Regulatory Oversight & Reporting
•Oversee and manage regulatory emissions reporting campaigns for programs such as NPRI, GHG, Methane, Benzene, and TIER.
•Provide expert audit support and client-facing responses to complex regulatory inquiries.
•Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to relevant authorities, and act as the engineer signatory (P.Eng.) when required.
Data & Inventory Management
•Guide the development and maintenance of facility and equipment inventories, collaborating with client environmental personnel to collect and validate field data.
•Ensure emissions data is effectively organized within Process Ecology’s document management systems, making it accessible and actionable for the team.
Report Quality & Review
•Lead the preparation and review of regulatory reports, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency with reporting requirements.
•Conduct in-depth reviews of emissions quantification and mitigation strategies and approve team deliverables before distribution.
Process Optimization
•Continuously evaluate and improve internal workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and process efficiency to enhance data integrity and reporting outcomes.
Technical Expertise & Client Engagement
•Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment and proactively address compliance requirements.
•Act as a senior liaison for client accounts, ensuring positive working relationships and delivering strategic emissions guidance.
•Provide high-level engineering input into emissions mitigation evaluations and process simulations.
The Candidate
Individuals with the following traits, skills and experiences should apply:
•Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering or related fields . An advanced degree may be an asset.
•5+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, air emissions management, or related fields. Process engineering may qualify as relevant experience in some cases (e.g., engineering experience in oil & gas industry), but several years of direct air emissions management experience is an expectation.
•Requires familiarity with the federal and provincial air emissions reporting frameworks such as NPRI, GHG, carbon pricing systems (such as AB TIER, BC OBPS, SK OBPS) and Methane regulations. Additional training or certifications in air emissions management, environmental regulations, or related areas is expected.
•Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring technical teams, including setting priorities, assigning responsibilities, and supporting staff development.
•Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects, lead team coordination efforts, and maintain client relationships.
•In-depth knowledge of emissions reporting protocols, methodologies, and calculation methods to ensure accurate and compliant reporting.
•Expertise with data management techniques, such as importing, entering, and validating data using specialized software platforms like Process Ecology's Emissions Advisor. Also need to thoroughly understand data management capabilities of Excel to avoid unnecessary manual manipulation of data.
•Proven ability to oversee and manage air emissions reporting campaigns, ensuring adherence to regulatory deadlines and requirements, and submitting reports to relevant regulatory authorities.
•Comprehensive knowledge of best practices for corporate emissions reporting and assurance processes to maintain consistency and accuracy in emissions reporting.
•Proven experience using analytical skills to review and interpret emissions data, identifying trends and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
•Ability to provide process simulation and engineering support to evaluate emissions mitigation options and optimize air emissions control strategies.
•Strong technical skills, including proficiency in engineering software and tools, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
•Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
