The Security Officer secures CoServ’s premises and personnel by monitoring surveillance equipment, monitoring access points to parking lots and buildings, and patrols property when necessary. Their responsibility is to maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors.
- Monitors access points to main building and parking lots.
- Monitors camera system of main building, surrounding buildings and property, and reports any camera/gate issues to Facilities.
- Responsible for all visitor/contractor sign-ins when visiting the CoServ building.
- Responsible for assigning and keeping a log of employee sub badges, visitor badges, and contractor badges.
- Responsible for logging all deliveries and contacting employees about deliveries.
- Patrols premises when necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining a relationship with local law enforcement.
- Responsible for identifying security concerns and notifying leadership.
- Completes security documentation by recording observations, information and occurrences.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
- Assists Administrative Services Manager with overseeing security software.
- Acts as a first responder in the event of a threat, injury or illness on site by calling police or fire department and being point of contact upon their arrival.
- Assists the Threat Management Team when situations arise and make recommendations for the issue.
- Attends annual training courses to maintain industry standards.
- Responsible for ensuring security desk coverage when out of the office.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
- Level III Private Security License
- 5-7 years' experience in industrial security
- Ability to communicate well with other departments and external clients.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of security practices and industry standards.
- Able to work under pressure in a stressful situation.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must possess personal computer skills and be proficient in Office 365 products including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Works extended hours as needed or directed.
- Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.
- Indoor, office environment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to drive occasionally as needed.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license
