The Secondary Chiller Plant Operator is responsible for the proper operation, maintenance and repair of the facility equipment, including adherence to all safety and environmental policies and regulations as appropriate to protect employees, the public and the facility. Work is performed under the direction of the Facility Manager and Lead Operator.
The Secondary Chiller Plant Operator must possess demonstrated knowledge of all facets of typical chiller plant operations, the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations and the capability to follow prescribed facility operating procedures.
Individuals for this position should have the ability to operate machinery and other aerial work equipment and have a working knowledge of applicable OSHA operating facility safety regulations and best practices. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Good computer skills are also essential.
Position may require working around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, pressurized liquids and gases and hot surfaces. Position may also require the ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, stand, lift overhead, work in locations with restricted access and confined spaces, noisy environments and elevated locations.
Position may require interaction with facility and corporate management, client and customer personnel, environmental health and safety personnel, government regulatory authorities, vendors and suppliers, and third-party contractors, subcontractors and engineers.

High School diploma/GED/Vocational School Diploma or equivalent required.
Five or more years’ experience operating and maintaining large chilled water systems.
