The Second to Fourth Year Apprentice Lineman is a position with Tipmont that follows a career trajectory toward Journeyman Lineman. This specific position requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a designated Apprentice Lineman.

To progress to the Journeyman Lineman level for further training, an individual must demonstrate competencies through assessment and / or job evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Groundman Skills

+ Cutting brush. + Digging ditches. + Assisting in the proper use and care of tools and equipment. + Reporting malfunctioning / broken equipment to a foreman or supervisor. + Assisting in the preparation of material for linemen to install.

Demonstrate practical knowledge of lineman skills learned across a minimum of two years.

ConstructionandMaintenance

Training and Observation

Attend a training program of the cooperative’s choice, with increasingly challenging assignments to gain necessary skills and knowledge.

Safety and Compliance

Requirements

+ Lifting, carrying or pushing with force weights of up to 100 pounds. + Assisting in construction of lines when required.
