The Equipment Operators are responsible to ensure the safe operation and transport of company equipment while delivering outstanding service to our clients. Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Manager – Sarnia, the Equipment Operator will be responsible for:
•Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority
•Adhere to all applicable company, customer and legislative codes, regulations, practices, and procedures.
•Promote a positive safety culture through company values.
•Operate, drive and stage various manual transmission units (dry vac, forklift, skid steer)
•Monitor/communicate hours and refuse work when approaching situations where they may exceed Hours of Service (HOS) laws.
•Complete all required paperwork/documentation (logbook, pre-trip inspection reports, timesheets, etc.) accurately
•Complete required safety paperwork (e.g. JHA, FLHA, equipment checklists, etc.) prior to starting a job task ensuring it is reviewed and signed by the crew.
•Actively participate in health and safety meetings, safety communication, planning, and hazard assessments.
•Utilization of the ELD in all applicable equipment
•Work as part of a team with Clients, Co-workers & Supervisors.
Requirements:
•Class AZ driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
•Must be able to shift gears on a manual transmission and have no automatic restrictions on license
•Must have experience using Electronic Logging Devices for maintaining Hours of Service
•Exceptional customer service and communication skills
•Safety-focused attitude with experience working in an industrial setting
•Knowledge to perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation
•Winterize equipment during winter months.
•Possesses cleanliness and organizational skills
•Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
•Must be capable of wearing a fall arrest harness and have the ability to climb into controlled settings at 30'
•Willing and able to travel for extended periods and the ability to work 10-12-hour shifts (including nights and weekends)
