This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Scientist/Chemist in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include working in the Chemistry Material Center laboratory, you will be an integral member of the rapidly growing Chemistry Services team in the Chemistry and BOP Services Product Line. The Chemist/Scientist I position will work in Framatome’s Chemistry and Material Center (CMC) laboratory performing analytical chemistry assignments and sample production tasks using state-of art lab equipment serving the nuclear plant market. Operate lab equipment, i.e., ICP-MS, XRF, XRD, FTIR, wet lab analysis, etc., and perform standard laboratory tasks and complex tasks under the direction of a CMC Supervisor while recording, intrpreting and reporting results. Rely on experience and judgement to plan priorities and accomplish goals. Follows standard operating procedures and aids to ensure quality results are produced safely. May be required to work with and around radioactive and/or corrosive chemicals and must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required. Working hours are typically 7:30 AM to 4 PM, with the potential to work overtime to meet project deadlines. Work will occur in an office environment, laboratories, and at nuclear power plants. In many environments, you will need to wear protective clothing or use equipment like safety glasses, steel toe/composite safety shoes, ear protectors, gloves and/or a hard hat on a daily basis.

Any employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen (as applicable).

The range of base salary for the position is between $65,000 - $84,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
