Scale House Operator - Located in Opal, AB

About Us

Peaskie Minerals is a premier supplier of domestically sourced proppants and silica flour to the West Central Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Our facility is located approximately 12 km north of Redwater or a 45-minute drive from north Edmonton.

Please note this is NOT a camp position. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to commute.

Position: Scale House Operator

Terms of Employment: Seasonal

Rate: $28.52/hourly – $31.82/hourly, Overtime after 8 hours per day

Schedule: 4 on, 4 off, Days (6:00am-6:00pm) and Nights (6:00pm-6:00am)

Duties & Responsibilities

- Greet and direct customers and other traffic, answer questions accurately.

- Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers.

- Provide general upkeep of the Scalehouse.

- Perform required data entry and minor customer service responsibilities.

- Operates control system to load sand into outgoing trucks.

- Document material leaving the facility using the plant scale and computer system.

- Ensure that a regular routine facility checks have been performed.

- Keep cross shift and Senior Coordinator Logistic Supervisor fully informed of all issues or matters requiring their attention.

- Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.

- Participate in all required Company meetings when possible.

- Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a front-facing customer service focused position.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in office administration.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in basic trade skills related to construction and/or building maintenance.

Education & Training:

- Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License.
