We’re seeking a SCADA Controls Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for configuring, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining SCADA systems and related control equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of public utility control systems. Data Flow is an industry leader in remote monitoring and control solutions for water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities. We deliver reliable, cost-effective distributed control systems through a full-service approach—from design to implementation—serving utilities of all sizes.
- Develop ladder logic programs for PLCs to control industrial processes.
- Configure and program SCADA HMIs for intuitive operator interfaces.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define system requirements.
- Test and debug ladder logic, HMI screens, SCADA servers, and PLC configurations.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, communication networks (radio, copper, fiber), and SCADA systems.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup of SCADA systems and RTUs.
- Perform software updates and modifications to improve system performance.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on system operation and troubleshooting.
- Provide occasional electrical and integration support for field equipment.
- Travel to job sites typically involves day trips or short stays (up to 5 days).
- Company vehicles provided; travel time is paid.
- Lodging and per diem covered for overnight stays.
- Follow all safety protocols and site-specific requirements.
- Ensure installations meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project and operational needs.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for customer and team interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and TCP/IP networking; Linux experience a plus.
- Experience with structured programming; ladder logic preferred.
- Background in object-oriented graphic design (GUI, print, or media).
- Solid understanding of electrical theory.
- Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to changing priorities.
