Job Summary
Maintains and enhances Power Management Control System (PMCS)/Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems; troubleshoots, updates, modifies design and drawings pertaining to PMCS/SCADA system. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all electrical, electronic and instrumentation equipment associated with the facilities PMCS/SCADA system in order to ensure a robust, efficient, reliable and minimum downtime of electrical system.
Location/Travel Information
This position is based primarily at the Quintana Island Liquifaction Facility (LQF) with support to other off-site locations in the Freeport area as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
•Accountable for maintaining FLNG PMCS network, including database, hardware, and workstation computers located in Control rooms.
•Performs corrective and preventive maintenance and repair work on the PMCS/SCADA and systems, as well as, a variety of electric, electronic and instrumentation equipment:
+ Electrical motors, transformers, electrical distribution systems, variable frequency drives.
+ Inspects and adjusts plant equipment as part of a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
•Perform daily PMCS monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
•Responsible for a full network of fiber optic communication network for data flow from PMCS to control room and DCS.
•Provide technical support as well as hands on support for the engineering team, DCS team and OPS team on day-to-day operations of the PMCS network.
•Ability to add and remove users, assign authorization levels and modify security settings to access to PMCS Network.
•Work in conjunction with FLNG electrical engineer in order to evaluate, coordinate and get approval corresponding PMCS data changes to support new and/or modify existing IEDs.
•Support PMCS Engineer on Setup/Configure, control schemes, network and communication paths for Real-Time Automation Controllers (RTAC), intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), Human Machine Interface and other PMCS system equipment.
•Support PMCS engineer on developing and maintaining Human Machine Interface using ZENON software.
•Support PMCS engineer on SEL firmware updates and plan and implement updates as required.
•Provide assistance on relay testing after upgrades
•Check COMTRADE files for relays providing CT saturation mitigation.
•Work with FLNG Electrical Techs to help troubleshoot onsite COMMs problems that might include one of the following protocol (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MMS, and DNP3), Address and clear PMCS alarms.
•Support PMCS engineer on data analysis to support evaluation of system defects.
•Interact with third party vendors to obtain already purchased parts or services required to deploy new PMCS devices.
•Conduct and document root-cause analysis of newly deployed PMCS system failures.
•The employee must have the ability to drive a motor vehicle in order to perform the duties required at all FLNG locations.
Education, Certification, and Experience
Minimum Required:
•Associates/Tech. Degree and/or 10 years of experience in electrical technology or
related discipline.
•3 years of experience with electronic relays and controls (Maintenance/Troubleshoot/Upgrades).
Preferred Level
•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or similar.
•5 years of substantial technical knowledge in PMCS Network / communication protocols.
Competencies
•Advanced knowledge on electronic relays, communication protocols and control logic algorithms analysis.
•Power Equipment Database Management.
•Thorough knowledge of industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in the electrical/control engineering discipline.
•Experience in monitoring asset performance and utilization, allocate resources as needed.
•Good analytical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
•Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
•Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
Work Conditions and Physical Expectations
•Routinely uses typical office, control room, & field communications equipment such as computers, hand-held devices, phones, videoconferencing devices, radios, etc.
•Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions, including Fire Resistant Clothing, and hearing protection, where required.
•Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy weather conditions.
•Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and electrical circuits and constant, or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
•Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
•Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required and move throughout all areas of the facility.
•Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift.
•The incumbent is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
•Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
•Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
•While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent will be required to talk and hear.
•May be required to enter confined spaces and work at elevated heights.

HS&E Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG HS&E Management System, including implementation of RAGAGEP requirements for fixed assets. Actively participates in application of HS&E Management System Policies, including Management of Change. Ensure that HS&E concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
