Sample Distribution Technician
Laboratory Testing, a leader in Materials Testing is seeking a Sample Distribution Technician for our Engineering department. In this vital role, you'll help drive the accurate processing of test specimens by managing job orders, interpreting technical specifications, and coordinating with multiple departments. This is a full time, onsite role working at our facility in Hatfield, PA. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 8am – 4:30pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create job orders and bill of materials to route test specimens through the testing laboratory.
•Review purchase orders and material specifications to ensure accuracy.
•Collaborate with other internal business areas to determine instructions for the bill of materials.
•Be capable of creating standardized work instructions to ensure accuracy of information.
•Specify machining processes.
•Assist with recording data in the proper format.
•Ensure traceability and identification on all pieces of material.
•Prioritize and manage daily flow of work to machine shop and destructive test labs.
•Analyze material and customer specifications to determine testing requirements.
•Interact with technical experts to confirm specimen preparation and testing methods.
•Use available technology & tools to improve productivity and accuracy of daily order processing.
•Follow detailed instructions, adhere to protocols, pay close attention to detail, seek clarification when necessary, and stay informed about updates to procedures and precedents.
•Ensure compliance with work instructions and established procedures to maintain consistency, quality, and safety.
•Understands and complies with LTI’s QA Program at all times.
•Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment.
•Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
•Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•3 years of related experience required; 5 years’ experience preferred.
•Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or other related field desired, but not required.
•Computer skills required: Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Inventory Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
•Other skills required: Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret drawing and specifications.
•The employee will be required to lift, push, pull, carry and/or move varying weight, up to 75 pounds.
This position requires use of information or access to processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export laws including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
