SALES SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Northern ILLINOIS / INDIANA

Our products include hot rolled low carbon steel products (angle, bar, tee, strip, sheet, plate, tube, pipe channel, rebar, wire mesh, etc.) Our strengths are extensive steel industry experience, top-notch customer service, and a team-focused culture.

ANCO Steel is seeking a Sales Support Specialist to assist the steel sales team companywide.

- Position is remote but individuals need to be from the Northern IL / Northern IN areas to be able to travel to ANCO's corporate office in Warrenville, IL and warehouse location in Hammond, IN.

Sales Support Specialist position collaborates with the sales and management team by handling administrative tasks to include maintaining and expanding the database of prospects, assist in managing customer inquiries and orders, write orders and communicate pertinent information about them to customers Other responsibilities include data entry, track and follow-up on customer orders, customer service, troubleshooting, and liaising with sales team, warehouse, accounting and operations.

- COMPETETIVE PAY- Hourly rate commensurate with experience. Time and a half overtime after 40 hours in a workweek.

- Work hours and days are Monday through Friday – 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must have:

- Must be 21 years or older.

- High School diploma or associate's degree in a business / sales-related field, preferred.

- 5+ years of direct work experience in sales capacity – metals industry a plus.

- Strong skills in data entry, word processing, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.

- Excellent verbal and written communication in English to clearly describe products, address issues, and interact effectively with customers and team members.
