This role operates as a key connection between the Vulcan Sales Team and the Customer Service Department to help optimize the shipping process to support both internal teams and customer satisfaction.
- - Monitor ope3n manifest board to assess opportunities for route optimization
- Evaluate open orders based on customer due dates, shipping locations, and material readiness.
- Research historical truck routes and shipments to identify load combinations and efficiencies
- Notify the sales team of trucks assigned by the customer service department
- Coordinate with inside sales and customers to confirm full truckload shipments
- Retrieve and distribute mill or material test reports
- Collaborate with the production and customer service teams to meet customer expectations
- Track and follow up with customers who have delayed scheduling pickups
- Work with sales and logistics to prevent bottlenecks or congestion due to unclaimed orders
- Assist sales with order entry, quoting, and other requests
- Provide acitionable reporting on trends and exceptions
- - Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Accuracy and efficiency under pressure
- Effective communication both in written and verbal form
- Organized and ability to prioritize well.
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Ability to handle difficult customers with professionalism
