Job Title: Safety Trainer
Reports to: Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Trainer to oversee and deliver safety and operational training programs for our workforce. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and fosters a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will conduct classroom and hands-on training in CPR, First Aid, H2S Awareness, equipment operation (e.g., skid steers), and Department of Labor (DOL) Lineman Apprenticeship Testing. This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided. This role is deal for candidates looking to start their career in the industry, with room for growth.

Essential Functions:
Deliver and maintain training programs in:
•CPR & First Aid (AHA/Red Cross certification preferred)
•Equipment operations (Skid steer, aerial lifts, etc.)
•OSHA 10/30, confined space, and other applicable topics
•Administer and proctor Department of Labor lineman testing and maintain testing records for apprentice development
•Develop, revise, and update training materials, manuals, and procedures
•Maintain accurate training records and certifications in the company’s LMS or training system
•Conduct new hire safety orientations and annual refresher courses
•Observe employees in the field and provide on-the-spot coaching or retraining as needed
•Coordinate with operational leadership to schedule and adapt training to meet workforce needs
•Stay current on safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, ANSI, NFPA 70E, etc.)
•Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis where training gaps are identified
•Perform job-site audits and field safety observations to reinforce training effectiveness
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Education, or related field preferred
Experience & Skills:
•Authorized trainer certification(s) in CPR/First Aid, H2S, or OSHA strongly preferred
•Experience administering DOL apprenticeship programs or lineman testing preferred
•Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
•Ability to operate and demonstrate use of heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer)
•Comfortable working in classroom, shop, and field environments
