Our Safety Specialists are trainers in safety, strong communicators, leaders to guide the team in safety practices and protocol, investigators, auditors, motivators, mentors and relationship builders! Our Safety teams support and reinforce job site safety by ensuring that the project teams are following our safety guidelines and procedures, provide detailed reporting, and safety reviews at the sites which could involve different shifts and weekends.

The Underground District has been constructing underground facilities (tunneling, deep foundations) since 1949, and has completed more than 100 underground-related projects totaling more than $1B. We are recognized as a leader in the tunneling industry and our services include TBM Rock, TBM Soft Ground, Sequential Excavation, Drill and Blast, Shaft Excavation, Concrete, Tunnel Rehab, and Numerous Trenchless Methods.

Our current need is for someone to be based in Lead, SD on our underground mine project. This project is a Mile underground and will be expected to spend a majority of the shift in this environment.
b. Thirty- hour OSHA construction safety and health training;
c. hazardous waste remediation or forty hour HAZWOPER training;
d. Resource Conservation Recovery Act/DOT hazardous waste/manifesting training
