SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting safety programs, policies, and procedures across all four manufacturing locations in Southern California, Northern California, Denver, CO, and Fort Worth, TX. This position ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations by conducting inspections, analyzing workplace risks, and promoting a safety-first culture. The Safety Specialist supports hazard prevention, risk mitigation, and employee training while contributing to the continuous improvement of workplace health and safety.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safety Specialist is expected to rely on their extensive experience and expertise to fulfill the functions of the role with minimal supervision. This position requires the customary and regular exercise of discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the following essential duties:* Implements and maintains company-wide safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Requires 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing safety role or equivalent combination of education and experience. SKILLSLanguage: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety regulations, technical documents, and business communications. Ability to write reports and policies. Strong presentation and communication skills with all levels of the organization.Computer: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Reasoning:Ability to apply concepts such as statistical analysis, rates, ratios, and percentages to interpret safety trends and data. Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple priorities across locations. Able to interpret regulatory requirements and adapt them to operational realities.
Other: Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary. Ability to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSOSHA 30-Hour Certification required; CSP or ASP preferred. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work on a computer and other office equipment. While visiting the plants the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and sharp, heavy objects. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud when visiting manufacturing plants, otherwise an office environment and noise is expected.
