Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Assess specific job activities for safety risk and work with Safety Department to create specific job safety programs as needed to ensure the safety of our employees and confirm compliance with OSHA’s rules and regulations.
•Implement and grow site specific programs to ensure the safety of our employees and compliance with owners and contractor requirements.
•Daily jobsite visits to assist the Project Manager, General Foreman or Foreman in identifying and abating exposures to our employees. Accurate records of these visits are to be kept with hazards and abatements noted.
•Work with the Site Safety Coordinators and Project Supervisors to enforce safety policies through training, enforcement, and discipline.
•Investigate all incidents and near misses, prepare reports detailing causes and remedies to prevent reoccurrences. Review incidents with Longhorn management.
•Provide regular jobsite safety training through the use of safety meetings, toolbox talks, or more formal methods as needed.
•Maintain working knowledge of current OSHA regulations as well as NFPA70e
•Review and modify safety policies as required, and incentive programs if applicable.
•Assist with the development of new training programs and present training materials to groups as needed.
•Assist Management with the enforcement of company policies to including Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity policies.
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 2-5 years in the construction industry, where 100% of the position’s day-to-day job functions entailed: safety, health, or environmental protection.
•Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
•2-5 years of experience in the electrical construction industry preferred.
•Familiarity working around energized electrical work, control of hazardous energies, proper PPE for each task, lockout/tagout procedures and familiarity with the Confined Space program.
•OSHA 510 in Occupational Safety & Health Standards for the Construction Industry preferred
•OSHA 10 or 30 training and NFPA 70E training preferred.
•Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn and use related software and systems are required.
•, CPR/AED First Aid. BCSP certification such as CHST, ASP or CSP preferred
•Special Knowledge/ Skills: Communicates details of safety procedures clearly to employees, knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70e guidelines, Provide and contribute to a positive environment. Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office products word and excel
•Must have or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license
