The Company manufactures and installs a unique factory build pipe-in-pipe corrosion-resistant pipeline system. CORE’s product called CORE Liner® uses an outer steel pipe for structural integrity and damage resistance with a polymer liner inserted in the pipe for a reliable and durable corrosion-
resistance barrier.
SAFETY & QUALITY COORDINATOR - JOB DESCRIPTION
CORE is growing, and we are looking for a Safety & Quality Coordinator to join our Operations team at our Crossfield manufacturing facility. Be a part of the excitement!
Reporting to the Safety, Quality, and Logistics Manager the Safety & Quality Coordinator plays a pivotal role in upholding CORE’s high standards of workplace safety and product quality. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s safety and quality assurance programs across the organization. Working in both plant and field settings, the coordinator ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures, facilitates inspections and training, investigates incidents and quality issues, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires regular collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Production, Field Services, and Business Operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENT (HSE)
•Maintain and continuously improve the CORE Safety Program and culture, including safety meetings, inspections, training, incident investigations, and maintenance program oversight.
•New hire and contractor safety orientations.
•Monthly inspections of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and ERP systems.
•Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and employee safety concerns with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
•Conduct site visits (field, vendor/customer sites) to ensure OH&S and company policy compliance.
•Ensure timely close-out of safety activities in SiteDocs (e.g., toolbox meetings, inspections, incidents, action items).
•Maintain safety documentation (HAAs, SWPs, MSDS, safety minutes, manuals).
•Manage and update HSE data in systems like ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, WCB, etc.
•Lead or support ERP drills and emergency preparedness reviews.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
•Conduct and document production inspections, including: First-off, in-line (random), pre-shipment, and final inspections.
•Dimensional inspections of pipe units against customer orders.
•Raw material data review and verification.
•Support maintenance and continuous improvement of QA procedures, manuals, and documentation.
•Assist in problem-solving issues during manufacturing, including initiating and following up on NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and ECRs (Engineering Change Requests).
•Maintain equipment calibration status through internal and external processes.
•Assist with internal QA audits and support external audits as required.
•Coordinate with shop inspectors during high workload periods.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)
•Understand and apply the CORE Quality Policy.
•Be aware of the CORE QMS.
•Participate actively in training, operational improvement teams, preventative and corrective actions and identifying non-conformities.
•Identifying, understanding, and applying applicable standard operating procedures and work instructions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or oil & gas environment in Quality and/or Health & Safety roles.
•Knowledge of quality assurance processes, product inspection, and safety systems.
•Strong understanding of CORE’s products and related inspection requirements is an asset.
•Familiarity with OH&S legislation and COR requirements.
•Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe, and cloud-based tools.
•Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to lead training sessions and perform field inspections with confidence.
•Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; willingness to travel between work sites.
•HAA, ERP, Accident Investigation, Auditor Training.
•CRSP designation or working towards it is considered an asset.
WORK LOCATION, HOURS, CONTRACT
•This job is based at our Crossfield Manufacturing plant and the work is in person.
•Some travel will be expected to field job sites.
•Work will primarily be Monday-Friday.
•This is initially a contract position with a clear possibility that the position will move to permanent by the end of 2025.
•All work-related expenses will be covered by CORE.
•Total compensation range (dependent on experience): $75,000-$80,000.
