Safety Professional
Position Overview:
Braun Electric Co. Inc. is seeking a Site Safety Professional. This position requires travel to several locations conducting site safety assessments, develop job safety plans, identify hazards, and develop mitigations. In addition, lead safety meetings, develop training materials, and issue PPE. The ideal candidate will have experience in the electrical trade or construction industry with five or more years of experience in safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct safety tailgates (training).
•Observe and engage with Braun employees and subcontractors.
•Ensure safe work practices and safety compliance through daily site visits, training, and leadership. Close any gaps with face-to-face coaching to correct.
•Complete field assessments and document them daily or as needed.
•Track assessment activity, training information, and meet with leadership to ensure compliance.
•Ensure compliance with established company policies and client standards, including but not limited to regulatory requirements of Cal/OSHA, NFPA, IEEE, EPA, etc.
•Conduct weekly safety meetings, develop presentations and maintain records to ensure 100% compliance.
•Be a safety resource for employees with your knowledge, experience, and guidance. Care for your team, as their safety is your priority.
•Investigate near misses and incidents; conduct or assist in investigations to identify causal factors and develop mitigation plans and/or process improvements.
•Develop job safety plans and oversee high risk activities such as confined space entry, excavation/trenching, Lifting & Rigging, work at heights, and electrical work.
•Issue and order PPE, maintain equipment and records.
•Attend company and client meetings as needed.
•Effectively communicate to various levels of employees from entry level to all operations and project managers.
•Driving some long distances depending on distance of jobsites from Bakersfield.
•Staying out of town if needed (Rarely needed).
•Be available for callouts and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a full-time safety position.
•Preferred CHST, OHST, degree in Occ. Health & Safety.
