We are looking for an Instrument Man (iman) to work in our Builder Department. Entry-level is fine, we will train you, just keep in mind that this is an outdoors position. As an iman you will learn new processes while assisting the crew with surveying. This role will help the daily survey routine by assisting in the Boundary Survey, Platting Survey, Topographic, and other surveys as needed. The Instrument Man will perform construction staking, as-built, boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title, and lot surveys.
Regular and reliable attendance is a crucial part of this position. It is an outdoor environment, and traveling is part of the daily duties. Must have a valid driver's license with a clean record!
This role will reports to the Crew Chief and is in person out of Debary.
· Perform field work related to all types of surveys, including boundary surveys, topographic mapping, hydrographic, ALTA/ASCM land title, and high-accuracy control network.
· Accurately run and adjust survey instruments, including laser scanners, drones, hydrographic equipment, GPS, robotics total stations, level and other electronic measuring devices with electronic data collecting capabilities.
· Read and understand survey map data and construction plans.
· Make sure all of the equipment is in the truck for your scheduled jobs.
· Be able to work in varying weather conditions and work environments, including dusty, wet, and loud noise, etc.
· Must be able and willing to travel and work in other cities, including urban and remote areas.
· High school education is required; college education includes a math, geometry, and trigonometry background.
· Able to learn and use a variety of computer programs.
· Must have good written and oral English communication skills.
· Ability to work well with others and open to coaching and direction from others.
Fieldwork involves working outdoors in all types of weather, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods while measurements are taken. While performing these duties, an employee must frequently sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, lift > 50lbs, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
The availability and schedule required for this role are Monday-Friday, 6:30 am- 3:30 pm.
This position is in an outdoor environment, and traveling is part of the daily job. The travel will depend on where the tickets you receive are, including urban, cities, and remote areas.
