Kinectrics is searching for an intermediate or senior Analyst/Engineer to join the Life Cycle Management & Component Integrity service line who will be responsible for providing support to the Life Cycle & Asset Management team. This includes development of Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMPs), Periodic Inspection Programs, Containment Testing, Vacuum Building Outage Support, Component Condition Assessments, Thermal Performance Assessments, Technical Basis Assessments, and other work supporting long-term equipment reliability and asset management for our clients.

Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

Act as a project leader / project manager for Kinectrics on major projects in the areas of nuclear waste characterization and management, mixed waste processing, ion exchange resin and filter applications, and station operation chemistry.
Initiate, plan, organize and conduct technical work in the area of Nuclear Waste and Process Chemistry in support of utility plant applications or decommissioning, within Canada, North America and overseas.
Help identify capability development needs to meet future demands of the technical program.
Supervise lab staff as well as staff who participate in the areas of process chemistry and nuclear waste.
Discuss with senior staff the strategy or plans that are required to drive operational continuous improvement and solve complex technical problems.
Plan and develop proposals for investigations in the area of process chemistry including estimates of costs, schedule, and resources required.
Carry out customer work; prepare reports with recommendations based on results achieved.
Provide strong support to actively market/sell the technology/service to ensure products and services remain viable and competitive.
Act as a key technical resource for Kinectrics’ Analytical laboratory operations.
Perform other duties as required.



What You Need to Succeed

A university degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is required with a graduate degree being preferred.
Must have knowledge and practical experience in analytical chemistry/radiochemistry methods, statistical methods, and the application of process chemistry to station operations.
Ideally both field and lab experience with chemistry, the application of chemistry to solve nuclear power plant issues (i.e., chemical cleaning, purification, waste streams, and/or waste processing technologies).
Highly experienced in the use of analytical chemistry techniques.
Good working knowledge of basic generation plant design/operation related to nuclear power plants is considered an asset.
A period of at least 8 years of relevant experience is considered necessary to achieve the desired level of proficiency.
Strong customer orientation and commitment to Kinectrics and Business Unit goals.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead technical project teams in the areas of analytical and process chemistry.
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations.
Demonstrated project management abilities to ensure quality, cost, and schedule are achieved.
Demonstrated high level of initiative to propose and implement new technology and business ideas in the areas of process chemistry and nuclear waste.
Demonstrated capability and experience to implement new analytical methods, develop new chemical processes, define radiochemical operations, drive process optioneering, and successful implementation of solutions at nuclear plants.
High level demonstrated ability to work in a team situation and mentor, coach, and supervise staff to develop their own level of expertise in these areas.
