SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
This position includes supervisory responsibilities for managing all aspects of the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of distribution power lines and equipment. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and assuring that all of the crews work meets client specifications. The General Foreman can be expected to manage between 5-7 crews. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Operations.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises foreman's work in the construction, installing electrical systems, fixtures, apparatus, and appliances, and participates in the more challenging work.
•Conducts daily inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments; assures availability of equipment, materials, and supplies.
•Capable of recording cost and job records and submits reports, initiates requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment.
•Enforces safety regulations, rules, and working conditions.
•Responsible for the proper training of personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools
•Accountability to see that all equipment and tools are well taken care of, inspected, returned, and secured.
•Responsible for timely and accurate timesheets for all crews under his supervision.
•Have Microsoft Word and Excel skills along with other computer skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or GED
•8-10 years of related experience, including supervisory or lead experience, including considerable experience as a journeyman lineman, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Thorough understanding of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade
•Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work
•Ability to communicate and effectively supervise the work of skilled workers.
•Ability to interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans and sketches, and blueprints.
•Ability to communicate and coordinate with superiors, subordinates, vendors, and Onsite Supervision.
•Ability to evaluate the time frame of the task assigned correctly and execute with budgets.
•Skill and knowledge in use and care of all hand and shop tools and equipment of the lineman’s trade
Minimum Requirements
•Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
•Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
•Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
•Must be able and willing to obtain Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (Company Provided)
•Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
•Must be willing to assist in any task that needs to be completed on the project.
•Must be open to extended times away from home as well as working holidays.
Availability, Physical Demands and Other REQUIREMENTS
Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers and members of the public, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.
A minimum of 40 hours/week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the evenings and/or during weekends.

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. This position works primarily in the field and is exposed to all types of weather conditions including temperature extremes and rainy environments. Outdoor setting involves all types of property and site conditions, including open spaces, timberlands, urban developments, flat and hilly terrain, building construction sites and road rights of way. Subject to outside weather/driving conditions.
