Proactively safeguard Berkshire Hathaway Energy and national security by fostering partnerships and coalitions to anticipate and mitigate strategic threats through advanced intelligence, comprehensive risk assessments, and collaborative strategies. Working with significant independence and under general direction, the Risk and Resilience Adviser performs a variety of complex tasks to anticipate and mitigate strategic threats through the development of advanced intelligence products, comprehensive risk assessments, and collaborative strategies. General tasks may include supporting the development of strategic intelligence reports and briefs, modeling and analysis of threats, and creation and implementation of security and resilience strategies.
Support the development of strategic threat intelligence products. (10%)
Design, build, maintain, troubleshoot and implement models, tools, processes and systems to evaluate strategic and emerging threats to BHE and its interests, including advanced threat and consequence modeling tools and BHE's cyber adversary validation environment. (50%)
Contribute to the development of company strategies to enhance security and resilience. (30%)
Provide timely and accurate support to executives and CSO leadership in response to threats and hazards. (10%)

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computational modeling, mathematics, political science, international relations, business, technology, security or related field or equivalent work experience (typically, four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree in a relevant field may offset some work experience requirement).
At least five years of experience in intelligence, security, resilience or a related field.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data management and analytical techniques and skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI and basic coding (e.g., Python), preferred.
Knowledge of risk management concepts, physical and cyber security principles, and the energy sector through achievement or pursuit of advanced degrees or certifications, preferred.
General knowledge of technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors.
Effective interpersonal and relationship skills, including effective written and verbal communications skills appropriate for business executives, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Project management skills with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, operating with a high degree of professionalism and attention to detail under time constraints.
Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
