A Telecommunications Revit Designer is responsible for creating and maintaining detailed designs for telecommunication and related low-voltage systems using Autodesk Revit software. This role involves collaborating with various disciplines, ensuring designs comply with industry standards and regulations, and supporting projects from conception through construction.
+ Utilize Revit software to create comprehensive designs for telecommunications and security systems.
+ Prepare detailed construction drawings, plans, diagrams, and schedules using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
+ Develop presentation drawings and other visuals for project stakeholders.
+ Utilize Naviwors for BIM/Clash Detection for project engineered systems.
+ Utilize BlueBeam for project mark-ups and coordination efforts.
•Collaboration and Coordination:
+ Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, civil, structural), and construction professionals, to integrate telecommunications and low-voltage systems seamlessly into overall building design.
+ Coordinate with external partners and clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project constraints.
+ Participate in client meetings and effectively communicate technical information to various stakeholders.
+ Perform tasks like sizing conduits, routing on drawings and in Revit/AutoCAD models, and potentially conducting voltage drop calculations or short circuit calculations.
+ Stay informed about industry trends, codes, and standards related to telecommunications and security design, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Maintain technical proficiency in telecom and security systems, including emerging technologies.
•Project Management Support:
+ Manage and prioritize multiple project drawings and tasks simultaneously, adhering to project budgets and timelines.
+ Contribute to the creation of budgets and project schedules by estimating hours and scope of work.
+ Perform site visits for quality control, punch list completions, and accuracy checks.
+ Prepare and maintain BIM models and facilitate BIM design coordination between disciplines.
Essential skills and qualifications
•Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BlueBeam.
•Strong understanding of telecommunications systems and technologies.
•Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into detailed 3D models and construction drawings.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
