Southwest Austin Residential Electrical Contractor seeking to hire Residential Apprentice Electricians. An Apprentice Electrician is an entry-level electrical trainee to learn the concepts and skills necessary to become a certified electrician.
Apprentice Electricians work under the observation of a licensed electrician, building basic skills and gaining additional tasks and responsibilities as they improve. Individuals must be diligent, have excellent attendance, and work overtime as needed. Candidates must have a TDLR apprentice electrician license.
Primary tasks involve:
•Assisting and participating in electrical roughs, trims and other similar residential electrical services
•Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order
•Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
•Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools
•Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools
•Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools
•Follow direction of Area Manager, Field Supervisor or Crew Leader and complete tasks in a timely manner
Candidates must possess the following skills:
•Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
•Lift a minimum of 50 pounds
•Climb ladders (all types)
•Must be able to work with others in a team environment
•Communicate and work with co-workers, home builders and homeowners in a positive and professional manner
•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
This position is hourly with an option to enroll in benefits including health insurance with employer match and a 401k plan with an employer matching contribution.
