Research and Development Engineer - Power Systems

Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) is seeking a Research & Development Engineer to support the innovation and advancement of software applications and tools for power system analysis and grid management. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and developers in shaping the future of energy through cutting-edge solutions.

- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software applications and tools for power system analysis and management.

- Collaborate with staff engineers to develop algorithms for new software tools and products.

- Participate in the integration and deployment of software solutions within the company.

- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing software applications.

- Document software designs, technical specifications, and user manuals.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Proficiency in Python is mandatory.

- Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies (e.g., version control, object-oriented programming).

- Basic understanding of power systems and electrical engineering principles.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Education And Experience

- Knowledge of additional programming languages is a plus.

- Experience with power systems simulation software is a plus.
