As RES Shop Supervisor, you will support the Rotating Equipment Services (RES) organization within Americas Outage & Maintenance Services (AOMS). The RES organization provides refurbishment and remanufacturing services for Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP), BWR and PWR Primary Coolant Pump Motor (RCPM / RxR), Auxiliary Motor and Primary Seal components and systems to bring safe, high quality, and cost-effective solutions to its customers in the Commercial Nuclear Industry. You will provide direction to the shop technician team and interfacing roles and organizations to drive completion and resolve challenges encountered throughout the lifecycle of such projects.


You will report to the RES Shop Manager and be located at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA.



Key Responsibilities:

Oversight of safety in a manufacturing environment including: electrical safety involving high voltage; safety in heavy crane lifts exceeding 60 tons; safety in heavy machining; rotating equipment safety; safety in welding and cryogenic gasses; and must interface closely with the site safety staff.

Lead all personnel, while in shop area, to observe strict compliance with the Radiation Safety Program. Monitor personnel and area to observe unfavorable trends. Alert support personnel to discrepancies and solicit support as needed.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the shop area, with the objective to be "Tour Ready" without prior notification.
Maintain a high standard of quality workmanship in the shop. Communicate quality expectations and practice sound principles of error proofing, with the objective to never pass on a mistake. Support creation and management of area metrics and reports concerning activities of assigned departments.
Interface effectively with customer technical and quality representatives during witness of shop repair and test activities.
Support the Performance Management Process for shop technician personnel including development of objectives, performance reviews and compensation actions.
Monitor qualification and training records for the purpose of scheduling updates and requalification.
Lead the "plan of the day" meetings and interface effectively with project managers to coordinate overall site resources and activities. Interface closely with the production planner to establish realistic and accurate production schedules.
Keep employees informed of area, business, and policy changes. Communicate goals and current level of group and individual performance. Maintain established employee relations policies and safety/health regulations.
Effectively conduct tours of the shop facility with internal and customer executives.
Coordinate maintenance and calibration of shop equipment.
Assist project manager or marketing personnel in providing estimated work hours on contract proposals.
Interfaces with project managers or engineering for technical conduct of service.
Apply analytical skills to production or equipment issues to initiate proper corrective action.
Participate in or lead special project assignments and perform designated roles (i.e. Incident Commander).
Identify and implement process improvements in assigned department.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma or recognized equivalent plus:

+ A two-year education certificate from a post high school technical school or + Satisfactory completion of two academic years of college in engineering or science.

Specific knowledge in electrical or mechanical curriculum and use is required.
Six or more years of directly related experience working in a manufacturing / shop environment.
Ten years of experience may be substituted for formal education where satisfactory evidence of electrical, electronic, mechanical and / or scientific skill has been demonstrated.
