The Repair Specialist will be responsible for making sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product as well as measuring and handling Aeroderivative gas turbine parts in accordance with all manuals and specifications.
- Set up and run various measuring tools (align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machine)
- Assuring the Scope of Work and GEK Manuals coincide with the work to be completed. Also responsible for generating Non-Serviceable Reports (NSR) if there are any issues with the product.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on Machine Shop machines (including disassembly of machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed)
- Utilize a wide variety of precision tooling such as indicators, micrometers, calipers, drills, depth gauges, other measuring equipment to achieve accuracies at specified tolerance.
- Transport parts from area to area as directed include operation of material-moving equipment such as forklifts, jib cranes, overhead cranes etc.
- Provide product line support for the various engine lines modules to facilitate assembly and disassembly. To include but not limited to drilling, tapping, installing helicoils, and cold working.
- Will have ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in position of responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to Aero (QMS) Quality Management System Work Instructions
- Must be a flexible team player and participate in problem solving and other continuous improvement activities
- Serve as change agent to help improve on current processes
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Independent and energetic self-starter.
- Must be able to complete Forklift Certification
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent GED
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to read and follow assembly and fabrication drawings
- Must be able to understand and follow work scope instructions
