Repair Engineer (CNC Swiss Lathes & Bar Feeders) - Job Description Announcement (JDA)
We are a rapidly growing, innovative manufacturer on the forefront of precision machining and advanced automation. As our operations expand, we are seeking a Repair Engineer with expertise in CNC Swiss lathes and bar feeders. This role is critical to ensuring uptime and reliability across our production floor.
The Repair Engineer is responsible for reactive troubleshooting and repair of CNC Swiss lathes and bar feeders, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems. While controls/PLC troubleshooting is a plus, the primary scope is restoring machine functionality quickly and effectively. This role also requires logging repairs, maintaining parts inventory, and contributing to process improvements to reduce recurring downtime. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician with hands-on CNC repair expertise.
· Perform reactive troubleshooting and repairs on CNC Swiss lathes and bar feeders (mechanical and electrical).
· Diagnose issues efficiently to minimize downtime and restore production.
· Log all repairs, downtime, and parts replaced for traceability and reporting.
· Maintain inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
· Provide input into standard troubleshooting guides and process improvements to reduce recurring failures.
· Collaborate with operators, production supervisors, and maintenance specialists to resolve issues quickly.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and uptime.
· Hands-on experience repairing CNC Swiss lathes required.
· Experience with bar feeders (installation, troubleshooting, repair) required.
· Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tooling.
· Controls/PLC troubleshooting experience (Fanuc, ladder logic) is a plus but not required.
· Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills with ability to work under pressure.
