- Responsible for set-up, inspection and operation of all Tech Shop Machinery and tools.
- Perform ski, snowboard and boot tuning and repairs for visitors, ensuring proper operation of equipment while maintaining a clean work area
- Make recommendations to visitors for additional services based on their equipment and/or snow conditions.
- Tune and repair the rental fleet to the schedule directed by the Supervisor or Coordinator.
- Maintain Tech Shop inventory, notifying supervisor of any tools/materials required Greet visitors and assist with inquiries in a friendly and resourceful manner
- Assist visitors with sizing and fitting of ski/snowboard equipment that will best fit their needs based on their level of ability, while maximizing comfort and safety
- Ensure the proper rental procedures are followed including confirming information on the waiver is accurate, equipment is scanned, and DINs are set correctly on skis
- Confirm that skis and snowboards pass visual inspection and that all issued equipment meets safety protocols
- Explain proper use of ski and snowboard rental equipment as well as general safety practices to visitors, ensuring they receive all information needed to enjoy a day on the slopes.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed according to Rental/Tech Department protocols
- Receive returned rental equipment, following equipment check-in procedures
- As needed, Lead Rental Shop Attendants through daily tasks, offering guidance and support where needed to keep operations running smoothly, making sure both guests and staff have a great experience.
- Ensure equipment check-in/out procedures are followed by staff
- Communicate with senior staff and other departments at Conservation Halton
- Assist with staff training both pre-season and in-season
- Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
- Other duties as assigned
- Basic knowledge of ski/board construction and binding design and function.
- Previous experience with ski/snowboard repair is an asset
- Successful candidates must complete and/or provide a copy of the following Ski Binding Certificates (Head, Atomic, Marker, Solomon, Dynastar, Elan, Rossignol, etc) prior to first day of employment, or complete training provided by Conservation Halton
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to troubleshoot various types of solutions for equipment
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Experience in using hand-held tools is an asset
- Experience in point-of-sale procedures is an asset
- Knowledge of recreational programming is an asset
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, nights and holidays
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
- Starting at $21.94 per hour
- Part time and full-time hours available; hours may vary depending on availability
- This position’s expected start date is October 23, 2025
