POSITION SUMMARY
The Rental Attendant is responsible for posting reservation signs, setting up tables and chairs for events, supporting rental customers during events (audio/visual, kitchen, lights, etc.), tearing down tables and chairs after the event, taking out the trash, and cleaning the event space as needed for the next event. The attendant will support events at the Estes Valley Community Center, Stanley Park, and picnic shelters around Lake Estes. Hours will vary but will average 20 hours per week. Shifts will be at least 4 hours, and most shifts will be evenings or weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Event Attendant will:
•Set up and tear down for events at the Community Center. This includes setting up and tearing down tables and chairs, as well as cleaning up after events, including emptying trash cans and replacing bags, wiping down tables and chairs, cleaning the kitchen (if used), and sweeping or mopping the floor as needed.
•Coordinate with vendors as needed for on-site arrangements of additional services, i.e., catering, equipment rentals, audio visual, etc.
•Coordinate with the Parks and Trails Maintenance Supervisor for any set up and clean up for Stanley Park rentals, including shelter rentals, ballparks etc.
•Interact with internal and external customers daily; includes responding to customer inquiries, as well as proactive, courteous, and friendly interactions with customers in support of patron loyalty and retention initiatives.
•Set up and troubleshooting of the audio/visual equipment for rentals.
•Explain how to use all kitchen equipment, and help renters find what they need in the kitchen.
•Follow the Emergency Action Plan and the responsibilities of the Event Attendant in case of an emergency.
•Serve as resource for the district by answering patron questions.
•Communicate effectively with supervisor regarding customer feedback.
•Complete reports and records as assigned by supervisor.
OTHER DUTIES
•Comply with all EVRPD, Local, State, and Federal ordinances and policies.
•Recognize and report unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries and provide first aid and emergency CPR if needed.
•Work collaboratively with other staff members and management.
•Report to assigned shift professionally dressed and groomed and ready to assume responsibilities.
•Perform other duties deemed necessary and assigned.

•Skilled in verbal communication with children, adults, and senior citizens.
•Ability to work outside standard business hours including evenings and weekends.
•CPR/AED and first aid certified or ability to become certified within the first 6 months of employment.
•Flexibility, the ability to solve problems and a sense of humor is a MUST!
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
+ At least 18 years old
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Maintain a Driver’s License in good standing.
+ At least one year of customer service experience in recreational, hospitality, or related industry
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
•First Aid / CPR (Or obtain certification within 6 months of employment)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
•Will require up to 20% local travel.
•The majority of work is in a busy community center setting, exposed to bodily fluids, with moderate to loud noise and frequent interruptions.
•Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
•Occasionally exposed to paint and cleaning chemicals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Work regularly requires sitting, speaking, hearing, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; the ability to bend, balance, stoop, stretch, reach, carry, and grasp objects; and lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
•Work requires near and far vision acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
