BJAAM Environmental, Inc. (BJAAM) is pleased to present this entry level, full time, opportunity for a qualified candidate to start employment in the environmental field as a "Remediation Technician". BJAAM is located in Canal Fulton, Ohio, about twenty minutes southwest of Akron. This is a full-time position with benefits as described below. This opportunity requires some overnight travel, a capable individual with a valid Ohio driver’s license (without restrictions), and a residence within fifty miles of the office (i.e., the later within thirty days after hire). BJAAM also requires initial health and safety training per CFR1910.120, medical monitoring, and complete compliance with a Drug Free Workplace Policy prior to permanent placement. All hires are considered probationary for six months from the date of hire. Additional requirements and qualifications are described below.
To build, maintain, and monitor remediation systems throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Remediation technologies include, but are not limited to the following: dual phase extraction, soil vapor extraction, bioremediation, ground water pump and treat, active or passive free product recovery, ISCO injection, and manual free product bailing. This is a field position and activities will include weekly, biweekly or monthly operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems as previously described.
High School Diploma or GED is required. A capability in any of the following trades is required: electrical, plumbing, or mechanical. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a previous work history with references. Applicants with an associate’s degree or trade school certificates are preferred.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
· system maintenance, cleaning, and treatment/filter media change outs;
· collecting vapor, wastewater, and ground water samples;
· maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
· maintaining the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal and waste management requirements;
· conserving resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results; and
· contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Diligent work scheduling, equipment maintenance skills, attention to detail, reporting results, team work. Experience with electrical wiring/troubleshooting, motor and pump mechanics, plumbing, and/or wastewater treatment processes a plus.
Starting pay is $18 - $22/hr. depending on experience level and technical ability. Overtime-pay for hours worked over forty hours/week, two weeks paid leave per year, 401k with percentage match (up to 3%), and multiple options for health insurance*. Company also provides work vehicles at the office to go to and from the job sites.
