Job Description
As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist at Mesa, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization meets all regulatory obligations at local, state, and federal levels. You will be responsible for interpreting emissions regulations, including the EPA Clean Air Act and related state and federal standards, and implementing processes and practices to ensure compliance across operations. This position encompasses a variety of key responsibilities, including understanding engine systems and emissions controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and supporting both internal teams and customers in navigating complex compliance requirements. Success in this role requires a combination of regulatory expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to drive compliance excellence and ensure alignment with regulatory landscapes.
Essential Duties
• Interpret emissions regulations, including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP, and Subpart JJJJ, and implement processes to ensure compliance across operations.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of air quality regulations and standards, providing guidance and proactive solutions to internal teams and customers.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operational teams to integrate emissions compliance into product development, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Oversee the collection, tracking, and analysis of emissions data to ensure regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and accurate reporting.
• Monitor and analyze updates to air quality regulations, advising on their potential impacts and ensuring alignment across departments.
• Develop and maintain compliance documentation, emissions reports, tools, and training materials to support audits, inspections, and regulatory understanding.
• Build strong relationships with customers, supporting their compliance challenges and field-testing needs.
• Act as a cross-functional resource to streamline compliance-related processes, improve operational efficiency, and align with regulatory frameworks.
• Apply knowledge of engine systems and emissions controls to ensure compliance and optimize emissions strategies.
• Performs all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
Preferred
Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in emissions regulations, compliance, or environmental science-related roles.
• Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
