Job Description
As a Regional Service Technician, your home office is located more than 240 miles from a Branch. You will be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on commercial roofing systems. Your expertise in roofing techniques, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality workmanship will contribute to the success and reputation of our company.
Responsibilities
1. Roofing Inspections and Assessments:
•Conduct thorough inspections of commercial roofing systems to identify and assess any issues or areas of concern.
•Document findings and prepare detailed reports outlining the condition of the roof and recommended repair or maintenance actions.
•Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to perform inspections, including thermal imaging devices, moisture meters, and visual assessments.
•Identify and address potential safety hazards and make recommendations for corrective measures.
2. Roofing Repairs and Maintenance:
•Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of commercial roofing systems, including flat roofs, metal roofs, and shingle roofs.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot roofing issues, such as leaks, punctures, and damaged flashing.
•Replace or repair damaged roofing materials, including membranes, shingles, insulation, and flashings.
•Apply appropriate sealants and coatings to ensure the integrity and waterproofing of the roofing system.
•Adhere to safety guidelines and use proper safety equipment while performing repairs.
3. Safety and Quality Assurance:
•Adhere to safety policies and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
•Follow industry best practices and company standards to deliver high-quality roofing installations and repairs.
•Conduct quality inspections to verify that work meets established standards and specifications.
•Identify and report any issues or deficiencies in roofing systems, materials, or installations.
4. Equipment and Material Handling:
•Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used in roofing installations and repairs.
•Ensure proper care and storage of tools and equipment to maintain their functionality and longevity.
•Assist in the inventory management of roofing materials and supplies.
•Coordinate with the supervisor or project manager to ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment for each project.
5. Work Order Execution
•Review and interpret work orders, ensuring accurate understanding of the required tasks and timelines.
•Coordinate with managers and coordinators to schedule and prioritize service requests.
•Gather and organize the necessary materials, tools, and equipment for each assigned job.
•Efficiently execute work orders, adhering to project specifications, industry standards, and company policies.
6. Customer Service
•Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.
•Provide clear explanations of work performed and recommendations for further actions or maintenance.
•Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area, respecting the customer's property and minimizing disruption.
7. Documentation and Communication:
•Utilize our service software platform to accurately record and document all service, activities, including repairs, materials used, and time spent on each project.
•Maintain awareness of timing; check-in and out for work orders will occur with GPS-enabled company-issued device.
•Complete required paperwork, including work orders, time sheets, and inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner.
•Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients regarding project progress, issues, and any necessary updates.
•Provide recommendations and suggestions for improving processes, procedures, and work methods.
•Attend virtual team connection meetings with direct supervisor.
8. Safety and Professional Development:
•Stay updated on the latest industry trends, techniques, and safety practices through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
•Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
9. Additional Responsibilities:
•Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial roofing installation, repair, or maintenance.
•Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and repair techniques.
•Proficient in using various roofing tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
•Ability to interpret work orders, specifications, and technical drawings.
•Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
•Physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
•Ability to climb a 40-foot ladder and lift heavy objects.
•Willingness to travel as required.
•Ability to travel long-distance throughout the year.
•Excellent communication and customer service skills.
•Team player attitude is a must.
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
•OSHA certification or willingness to complete certification.
