POSITION TITLE: Regional Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist
LOCATION: Gleason, TN with travel to Crenshaw, MS
JOB SUMMARY:
The H&S Specialist supports all aspects of the H&S regulatory compliance at Imerys’ PMA Processing Sites & Mines in TN and MS. The position supports development, implementation and administration of H&S compliance programs, regulatory analysis, compliance with permits/licenses, audits, industrial hygiene workplace sampling and other aspects of H&S management.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Administer a wide range of EHS compliance and training programs at both MSHA and OSHA facilities.
•Assist in accident investigations and assist site leadership with incident management
•Compile, analyze and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents to assess high risk areas
•Manage industrial hygiene testing and analysis of workplace chemical and physical hazards and recommend controls that will reduce potential exposures.
•Conduct H&S regular audits/inspections of facilities and support corrective actions.
•Facilitate both Pre and Post Event Learning Teams
•Enablon Management (training users, reporting, data entry, etc.)
•Coordinate/participate in MSHA & OSHA compliance inspections.
•H&S Red-On-Line Legal Registry Management Updates
•Workers Compensation (submit claims and work with adjuster)
•Actively participate in Site’s Safety Committees.
•Develop, Implement, and maintain all aspects of the Imerys Safety System and the associated protocols.
•Build Strong relationships with site management to ensure responsibility for all aspects of the Imerys Health & Safety System are established
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate technical discipline (such as Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related area) OR
•Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum 2 years Relevant Health and Safety Experience in Mining and/or Heavy Industry preferred
•Working knowledge of Federal and State H&S regulations.
•EHS certifications are beneficial, but not required.
•Union experience is beneficial, but not required.
•Approximately 35% travel
