The Recruiting Specialist strengthens SVH’s talent pipeline by combining strategic outreach and hands-on recruiting to attract top talent, enhance candidate experience, and support long-term workforce growth through collaboration, innovation, and community partnership.
· 3+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience
· Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms
· Understanding of labor market trends and data-informed hiring strategies
· Collaborative mindset with ability to partner across departments
· Preferred: Experience with internship/early talent programs and inclusive hiring practices
· Preferred: Familiarity with construction, engineering, or skilled trades industries
· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field
· Manage full-cycle recruitment or coordinate with departments and P&E Generalists for new hires.
· Collaborate across departments on pay rates, start dates, background checks, and role requirements.
· Monitor labor market trends to proactively adapt strategies for attracting top talent.
· Develop and implement strategies to attract trade talent, focusing on building a robust, long-term workforce pipeline that supports current and future business needs.
· Evaluate and integrate emerging recruitment technologies to streamline sourcing, engagement, and candidate communication.
· Share insights and recommendations with the VP of People & Engagement to align recruitment efforts with broader business needs.
· Own the design, coordination, and execution of the SVH internship program, including developing university and community partnerships.
· Prepare, review, and update offer letters to ensure alignment with approved templates, compensation standards, and company policies.
· Collaborate with leadership to identify intern opportunities and support conversion to full-time roles where appropriate.
· Represent the company’s values and culture throughout all candidate interactions.
· Drive skilled-trades talent pipeline by supporting outreach initiatives such as Women in Construction Week, career fairs, and mentorship programs (e.g., ACE), fostering early connections and belonging from recruitment through onboarding.
· Work collaboratively to ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and professional candidate experience from first touch to onboarding.
· Support ongoing improvements to SVH’s employer brand through job postings, community engagements, and candidate communication strategies.
· Portland-based, with occasional travel to other regional offices and off-site recruiting.
