R&D Mechanical Engineer

GEM Advanced Magnetometers is a supplier of magnetometers, gradiometers and magnetic sensors for Earth Science, Geophysics & other applications. With more than three decades in the research & development of equipment for geophysical exploration.

GEM Systems is currently seeking a R&D Mechanical Engineer who is creative and has initiative. You will perform occasional hands on work, including mechanical assembly, testing, & field support as-required. Diagnose design problems, recommend solutions and take actions based on consultation as appropriate to resolve technical issues during manufacturing, development testing, or field use. Must be a team player with excellent communication skills both written & oral.

Experience working in an R&D environment

Think outside the box for solutions and provide cost effective and simple solutions

Reporting and working directly with the Director or Operations

Assembling and testing prototypes

Experience documenting/updating machine drawings and cable diagrams , Experience packaging design , SolidWorks experience minimum 2+ years

Sound understanding of engineering principles.

Experience with drones(UAV) and flight control systems. Experience using laser engraver, debugging software, data analysis, 3D printer
