Job Description:
In this critical role, you will play a vital role in keeping our railroad operations running smoothly. You will be responsible for transporting, operating, and servicing a variety of heavy equipment used in track maintenance, repairs, and in the event of derailments.
Responsibilities:
•Safely transport, operate, and service a range of heavy equipment used for railroad maintenance tasks, including:

Track machines: Tamping Machines, Ballast Regulators, Shoulder Ballast Cleaners, Tie Inserters, Spike Pullers
+
Construction equipment: Bulldozers, Excavators, Loaders, Backhoes, Cranes
+
Support vehicles: Dump Trucks, Hi-Rail Trucks, Utility Trucks
•Perform ground support duties as needed, assisting with track repairs and equipment setup.
•Ensure the safe operation and proper maintenance of all assigned CDL-A required vehicles and heavy equipment.
•Conduct regular preventative maintenance checks on equipment, identifying and reporting any potential issues.
•Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
•Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures established by the company.
•Participate in ongoing training programs to stay up-to-date on equipment operation and safety regulations.
•Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
•Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Qualifications:
•Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Rail Heavy Equipment Operator or in a similar role.
•Valid CDL-A driver's license with all endorsements (e.g., air brakes, doubles/triples)(preferred)
•Demonstrated ability to safely operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment.
•Experience with railroad maintenance procedures and equipment is a plus.
•Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
•Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
