NVI, LLC is seeking a dedicated and proactive Radiation Safety Officer to support our West Texas and New Mexico locations. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting best practices in radiation safety across our NDT operations.
As a Radiation Safety Specialist, you will support NVI’s continued national growth by overseeing and enhancing radiation safety programs, conducting audits and training, and ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the use of radiographic testing equipment.

The RSO is responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Responsible for training and development of federal and state industrial radiation safety practices of each employee of the division
- Responsible to adhere to federal, state, and company industrial radiation safety and increase control procedures
- Responsible to perform radiation safety and radioactive material leak detection audits of the division
- Responsible to monitor employee dose exposure for the division
- Responsible to ensure every divisional employee is equipped and knows how to utilize radiation safety personal protective equipment
- Perform quality, radiation safety, and safety audits/assessments, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, of craft technicians to ensure the quality of services are being controlled per practices throughout the Permian region.
- Perform quality control performance assessments in the field and via desktop to meet internal company objectives and for the development of our craftsmen. The areas of focus are both quality and safety concentrated; however, the main purpose of our program is to build the culture of our company by developing each technician in these areas including furthering their knowledge of company policies & procedures across the organization.
- Obtain your Operator Qualification Evaluator certification for Veriforce and OQSG and any other third-party evaluator designation necessary to support operations of the region.
- Any other duties assigned by your operations manager, Texas radiation safety officer, or the corporate radiation safety officer
- High School Diploma, G.E.D
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to pass an MVR evaluation
- Valid TWIC TSA background identification card
- Ability to pass Fit for Duty Testing and Drug/Alcohol policies/procedures
- Valid State Radiographers card or IRRSP card
- Over 2,000 on the job training hours with industrial radiography
- Has successfully completed the Industrial Radiation Safety Officer training in accordance with applicable standards
- Has satisfactorily completed source retrieval training in accordance with applicable standards
- Currently or previously certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A Level II RT, MT, PT and UTT methods
- Positive Material Identification Certification with using the XRF and OES/LIBS equipment.
