As our R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will report directly to the Principal Scientist. You’ll apply your hands-on engineering skills to design and develop custom solutions that power our biofuel production pipelines.
· Design and fabricate customized equipment and solutions to support evolving R&D workflows.
· Provide technical consulting and fabrication support across our global operations
· Collaborate closely with the Principal Scientist to implement and optimize production systems.
· Document best practices and train operators on equipment use and operational procedures.
· You excel at hands-on, iterative problem-solving and creating custom solutions to unique challenges.
· You can work independently while collaborating across teams and external partners.
· You have a commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
· Practiced in designing, fabricating, and utilizing custom elements/parts to enable R&D production pipelines.
· Experience with analyzing experimental results and applying learnings for iterative R&D and process improvement.
· Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamic properties to create bioreactors.
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods of time. (~25% travel required).
· Must reside in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, Georgia; hybrid role (minimum 3 days/week on-site).
· U.S. citizenship required (no visa sponsorship available).
· Start-up experience collaborating across fast-paced highly networked teams
Start Date: Expected start date is July 7, 2025.
Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus.
