Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced R&D Engineer to join our team, playing a key role in planning and executing experimental plans and advancing our technology development process in our Pilot Plant. The role will be accountable for the overall design, operation, organization, and maintenance of assets within their area.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with R&D environments as well as lab-scale Pilot Plant operations within the refining and petrochemical space. Other areas of responsibility include documentation in the form of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for plant operations, equipment operations, troubleshooting, data reporting, and maintaining the highest safety standards and abiding by all applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
•Ownership of overall R&D lab assets and accountability for design, operation, and maintenance.
•Plant operations and monitoring of equipment and systems.
•Maintaining accurate documentation in the form of performance reports, daily logs, SOP’s, PFD’s, PID’s, inventory of assets and chemicals.
•Use data monitoring and acquisition systems to analyze and report plant performance data and ensure safe and reliable operations.
•Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with plant equipment and processes.
•Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal operation of the plant.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D and Engineering team members) as well as external partners to ensure accurate data management, reporting, and communication.
•Understand and adhere to safety protocols and standards in plant operations.
•Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree technical certification in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial Pilot Plant, R&D setting, or similar process industry.
•Hands-on experience with data monitoring and reporting software.
•Proficient in reading and interpreting PFDs and P&IDs.
•Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in plant operations.
•Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to write clear and concise SOPs.
•Familiarity with simple piping modifications and equipment operating standards.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•Good communication and teamwork skills.
•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
•Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
Salary Range: $90-$100k
