The primary function of this position is to perform final and in-process Quality Inspections on the different products that STAR manufactures and sells to ensure they meet specific requirements. This position also performs other miscellaneous quality functions example, assisting receiving inspection, part sorting, calibration, and quality studies. The position will also provide general oversight and supervision for the Quality Management System, as well as manage other inspectors within the Quality Department.
- Final inspection / documentation of machined parts utilizing various measuring instruments.
- In-process and first part inspections of machined parts using various measuring instruments.
- Stamp completed parts using both hammered stamp and etching procedures.
- Track and document rejected parts and materials.
- Assist the Operations Manager with record keeping and production statistics analysis as needed.
- Oversight of NDT Testing based on customer requirements.
- Responsible for measuring tool calibration.
- Manage the Non-Conforming Material Reporting program.
- Schedule and facilitate Management Review Board meetings.
- Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
- Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
- Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
- Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
- Interact with vendors and purchase to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
- Directly Supervise quality inspectors
- Other activities as deemed necessary by management to meet customer needs

- Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience with a QMS system is required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in general shop machining, processes, and materials.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in reading and understanding common blueprints
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in using various measuring equipment tools. (Tape Measure, Caliper, Mics…)
- Familiar with GD&T
- Non-destructive Testing experience required
- Must be able to lift and manipulate 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
