NOTE: We are looking for 3 Regional Quality Managers, one each for North, South and West divisions
Quality Control Specialist ensures projects are safe and achieve the quality requirements during each job phase of a Champion (CPSSC) project. In construction, the quality requirements are established by the contract documents such as plans & specifications.
Job phases such as preparatory, start-up, production, completion & close out shall be monitored by the QCS to ensure that our Quality Management System (QMS) is in coordination and cooperation with the entire project team to ensure that CPSSC work activities are performed:
According within the defined scope, plans and specifications
On time – within the defined scheduled critical path or milestone activities
Implementing our QMS will increase profit and production through improved planning, communication, and client satisfaction for future contracts.
Participate in pre-job meetings and early job site visits
Create or review site work / quality plans
Verify QC personnel has current training certifications or records Identify future training needs
Coordinate with the PM team the skilled craft certifications
Track calibration certs and issuance of QC tools.
TruQC job set up and DIR approval shared with Quality Director
Observes QC Inspection (QCI) activities through review and approval of QC Reports.
Point of Contact (POC) - Quality matters for our Project Managers & personnel performing inspection activities.
o Observe in process work activities and verify CPSSC Quality Inspections are in accordance
Maintain CPSSC AMPP Certs by coordinating and participating in AMPP audits.
Document and track corrective actions, non-conformances and disposition on CPSSC CAR Log
POC for potential QP-6 Thermal Spray Project or QP-3 Blast & Paint Shop
Temporary QC or Supv if current site personnel is sick or vacation
Knowledge of Quality Assurance & Quality Control principles and their application for construction,
Understanding the use and function of Quality Control Measuring & Testing Equipment
Proficient knowledge of TruQC, MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels; conducts self in polite and professional
manner; actively listens to what others have to say and restates information to ensure understanding.
Ability to apply organizational skills when given a project; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Resolve quality conflicts with Owner’s QA Representative or other project personnel directing excessive or unnecessary inspections outside the project requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive material.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
*Must have Visual Acuity of Near Side 20/20 using a Jaeger #1 and a Far Side of 20/20 either corrected or uncorrected in at least one eye
*Ability to physically climb stairs, balance on scaffolding, kneel to access small areas, crouch into confined spaces and work in excessive heat and/or cold environments due to site visits
Frequently lift and or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
Ability type on a keyboard and converse over a telephone
*As required by CPSSC Quality Standard Procedure QSP-02, Rev2 “QCI Training & Certification
* 3+ years of experience within protective coatings industry in one or more of the following areas: qc inspector, foreman or project manager
* Completed a two-day or 16-hour QCS course in quality control supervision specific to the protective coatings industry (SSPC / AMPP Quality Control Supervisor)
* Holds a current third-party coatings inspector certification at level 2 or higher through AMPP / NACE or SSPC
Have worked with CPSSC for at least 3 years or have 5 documented years as the QC Supervisor / Manager with another painting contractor.
Ability to travel as required and obtain job security badges such as DOD, DOE, TWIC, Nuclear, etc.
OSHA 10 (30 is preferred) solid understanding of OSHA and industry specific regulations
Additional current certs are preferred and not required unless a job specific requirement for the QCS
