Job Position: Quality Inspector/CMM Technician
Reports To: Quality Manager
Authority: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.
Job Competencies/Duties (include, but are not limited to):
Competencies:
•Two-year Technical Degree or equivalent job-related experience
•Good understanding of measurement systems
•Excellent attention to detail
•Good ability to read and understand prints and technical documents
•Written and verbal communication skills
•Computer skills in Word, Excel and Windows.
•Communication proficiency
•Excellent time Management and organization skills
•Problem solving/Analysis skills
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Job Duties:
•Assist, when directed by the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspectors.
•Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
•Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
•Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
•Communicate with Production when issues are found.
•Documents inspection results inputting data into quality database or appropriate data log.
•Use appropriate inspection methods to verify part dimensions
•Approve initial production parts prior to production start up (molding)
•Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
•Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
•Use computer-assisted measurement and analysis systems
•Maintain good housekeeping standards
•Assist in audits, communicate results, and verify corrective actions
•Assist the Quality Engineer in performing layouts; gage R&Rs, etc.
•Assist the Quality Engineer in completing PPAPs submission packages, annual layouts, etc.
•Develop, maintain and generate CMM programs
•Develops stable and repeatable setups/programs
•Trouble shoot CMM when issues arise
•Understands GD&T concepts and apply as needed.
•Interpret drawing/ specifications to accurately measure and inspect parts
•Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
•Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction.
