About This Job

Responsible to supervise the efforts of staff and initiatives for the Quality Inspection area for Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.

Responsibilities

•

Coordinate activities of Quality Control and Inspection and ensure compliance with established standards

•

Ensure all in-process and final inspection paperwork is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner

•

Review and approve all incoming inspection reports

•

Ensure that all equipment is in good operating order and verify calibration on measurement equipment regularly

•

Participate in production meetings and provide status updates, as requested

•

Act as a liaison or audit escort of customers, third party inspectors and auditors

•

Develop and administer QC/NDE training programs for required disciplines, including course/exam scheduling and certification of trainees

•

Participate in inventories as scheduled; both cycle counts and full inventory accounting

•

Ensure alignment with the overall Quality departmental goals and objectives

•

Direct, schedule, oversee and monitor the daily efforts of staff

•

Ability to identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and act on results

•

Support Kubota Global Identity, with the Brand and Spirit statements of Kubota Materials Canada Corporation

•

Teach, coach and lead staff to perform duties within established quality standards

•

Schedule employees based on production needs, including planned and unplanned absences

•

Monitor attendance of staff and flag concerns to Human Resources

•

Liaise with Human Resources with identified/approved recruitment needs

•

Engage and foster professional development of all staff and provide opportunities for learning within budgeted resources and individual need

•

Develop performance standards for staff, communicate frequently on tasks, and conduct regular evaluations

•

Report, investigate and take appropriate action on incidents in the workplace

•

Display of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters

•

Attentiveness to required paperwork and online entries (not limited to: payroll submission deadlines, reports, monitoring employee absences)

•

Other related duties, as required

Qualifications

•

Diploma or Degree in Quality, or related field from an accredited college or university

•

Minimum 3 years’ experience overseeing staff in a manufacturing facility

•

Valid CGSB certificate considered an asset

•

Experience in a unionized production environment preferred

•

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

•

Training courses in related Health and Safety

•

First Aid & CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain

•

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

•

Strong communication skills, including conflict management of staff
