Position Overview
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for maintaining Ruland’s high-quality standards across our operations. This hands-on leadership role will manage daily quality control activities, implement and improve systems, and ensure our products exceed internal and customer expectations from raw materials through finished goods.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Marlborough, MA, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. At Ruland, quality is not just a department — it’s a shared responsibility. Key Responsibilities
•Oversee and manage the quality control process from raw material to finished product.
•Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures aligned with industry and regulatory standards.
•Lead, train, and support the quality control team in effective inspections, testing, and evaluations.
•Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to proactively identify quality issues and implement process improvements.
•Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
•Maintain and organize quality documentation, reports, certifications, and control plans.
•Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to product or process nonconformance's.
•Track, report, and improve quality metrics using KPIs and data-driven strategies.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
•5+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment, ideally in precision mechanical components.
•Strong knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving quality issues.
•Proven leadership and communication skills, with experience managing and developing teams.
•Experience with SAP Business One or other ERP systems.
•CMM experience preferred; in-house calibration experience is a strong plus.
•Familiarity with quality control software, statistical tools, and inspection instruments.
•Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies is a plus.
