We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Level 1 QC Inspector Certified Receiver to support our busy fabrication facility located in beautiful Squamish BC - halfway between Vancouver and Whistler. CSI designs and fabricates a wide variety of CWB structural weldaments and occasional ASME boilers, pressure vessels and piping systems as well. We serve a range of industries from structural steel, industrial construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, and mineral processing /fertilizing, through to newer industries such as clean hydrogen and CO2 capture.
We have an immediate need for:
Level 1 QC Inspector Certified Materials Receiver
Reports To: Materials Processing Manager
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with inspection, verification, and documentation of all incoming materials to ensure compliance with order specifications, material requirements and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Inspect incoming materials, components, and equipment for quality, dimensions and quantity ensuring what is received conforms to order specifications
•Perform visual inspections and dimensional checks using standard measuring tools
•Verify proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials per company procedures and safety regulations
•Complete and maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
•Identify non-conforming materials and report findings to respective manager
•Assist with material traceability and ensure accurate tagging and documentation
•Support audits and internal reviews related to materials handling
•Complete kitting of materials for designated projects as required
•Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and project teams to ensure seamless material flow
Requirements:
•High school diploma, GED or higher; QC Inspector Level 1
•0–2 years of experience in quality control, materials inspection, in an industrial fabrication setting
•Familiar with material handling processes, inspection methodology, and QA/QC documentation
•Knowledge of MTRs, ITPs, and shipping/receiving processes
•Well versed in industrial materials and able to identify them
•Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
•Good computer skills; experience with ERP systems or inventory software is a plus
•Ability to physically measure, inspect materials and receive shipments before they are offloaded from various transportation modalities such as trailer beds and trucks
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse/yard environment
Preferred Qualifications:
•Certified or trained in basic Quality Control or Inspection methods.
•Forklift or material handling equipment certification.
•Prior experience in a regulated industry (construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc.).
