The QA/QC Technician position is responsible for supporting asset integrity and compliance programs for pipelines, pressure equipment, tanks, and other associated equipment for all Murphy’s US Onshore production facilities.
Support field inspection compliance programs including OOOOa/b inspections, SPCC, and AVOs as required
Conduct OOOO related FLIR OGI camera surveys and follow ups as required
Work closely with maintenance teams and engineers to develop corrective action plans based on IR findings
Operate and maintain IR (infrared thermography) cameras and other related inspection equipment
Conducting regular compliance audits and assessments to identify risks and areas for improvement
Identifying and mitigating potential compliance and regulatory risks
Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and documentation through SAP and internal record keeping systems
Ensure all PSV (pressure safety valve) activities comply with company standards, industry regulations and safety protocols
Gather and manage data on 3rd party compressor PSVs test and repair dates
Valid driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required
Minimum 2 years of experience in thermal imaging level 1 or 2
General understanding of onshore field development and production operations including processing equipment
Ability to follow and apply new technological developments for corrosion inspection, monitoring and mitigation
Understands the philosophy around risk reduction for corrosion mechanisms in treatment, design, and implementation
Knowledge of rules and regulations of government regulatory institutions
Experience with Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessments
Ability to work weekends (as needed) to ensure integrity program safely and efficiently executed
Must be able to work long hours in a demanding environment
The successful candidate will live within 70-miles of Jourdanton, TX.
Continuing education such as technical diploma is preferred
Analytical problem solver and decision maker, with a focus on delivery of cost-effective solutions
Physical requirements typically include standing, stooping, walking, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and wearing various personal protective equipment (PPE) in extreme variations of temperature year-round. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
