Purchasing Clerk: Titan Air is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to fill a position in our Purchasing department.
Qualifications
A successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests
- Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs and order more materials when necessary
- Perform buying duties when necessary
- Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files/reports and price lists
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
- Negotiate prices, discount terms, and transportation arrangements for merchandise
- Research and calculate price quotes for replacement parts
- Assist in quarterly inventory of parts
- Perform any other duties as assigned
