Position Title: Purchasing Clerk

Position Summary: Initiates the purchase of materials or supplies by determining vendor, issuing purchase orders and maintaining inventory levels.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
•Creates purchase orders and requisitions to maintain inventory in materials, goods and supplies and sends purchase orders to suppliers.
•Communicates on the telephone and through email to interact with suppliers daily.
•Reviews and maintains manual or computerized records for material inventories and determines status and location of purchase orders.
•Reviews deliveries against orders and ensures invoices are sent to accounting.
•Deals with non-supplied, under orders and damaged goods and procures the proper goods.
•Researches and prices proposal requests.
•Utilizes company vehicle to purchase local inventory items as needed.
•Maintains front desk and incoming telephone calls.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
•One to two years related experience and/or training.
•Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR.
•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
•Must have excellent telephone communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with customers on the phone or through email.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
•Microsoft Office experience required.

•Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) as required for the position.
•This position works mostly indoors.
